I hope you found a winner or two over the Guineas weekend which would put you “a winner or two” ahead of me! I found Saturday’s results so unexpected I had to go through the Saturday cards again on Sunday! Still couldn’t have found them! New rule made though, no further betting on Five Furlong races, 2yo’s included!
I was impressed by Minding in the 1000 Guineas and I will be interested where #SuperStoute runs Exosphere next.
Yesterday’s racing was poor and todays is no better but we can look forward to three days at the circus that is Chester and a couple of decent cards at Haddock and Ascot at the weekend.
Chester means two things Dr. Marwan Koukash and Stewards Enquiries! Every one of #FantasticMrFahey’s entries on Wednesday is owned by Dr. K! Can’t have double figure draws over any distance but otherwise I think the false rail entering the short straight gives most a chance.
2.10 5F 2yo fillies!! No thank you. Tom Dascombe is very bullish about the favourite Fiery Character.
2.40 Watching brief.
3.10 Fahey and Dr. K have four running, Angel Gabriel (James Doyle), Duke of Clarence (David Nolan), Gabrial the Hero (Paul Hanagan) and Gabrials King (George Chaloner), drawn 18, 8, 12 and 17! I haven’t a strong fancy but will probably play No Heretic as I think Jamie Spencer could do the biz on this unexposed, lightly raced 8yo. Of #FantasticMrFahey’s four, maybe Duke of Clarence each way?
3.45 I can see Franny Norton getting Kimberella out of stall 3 and giving it a go. Lexi’s Hero will be fast and late and probably an unlucky fourth! Growl is of interest on his debut for Fahey at Ripon but surely wants a flat 6F?
4.20 Rene Mathis over 5F?! Can’t have it.
4.55 Mulk is in #startracking from his Craven meeting debut but can’t be backed @2/5!! Monaco Rose is way out of her depth but there is prize money to 6th and I think I’m right in saying its £400 per runner here.
5.25 Antioco is a fascinating entry as Dr. K paid £28K to get this son of Motivator out of the Botti yard. He’s had three average runs at two and now steps up 4F as he goes handicapping off OR73 and Paul Hanagan takes the ride!
#FantasticMrFahey runs two at Chelmsford on the sand with Tony Hamilton riding both.
5.45 Patrick Tidy sprinter with form on the AW. Back in the right grade but needs to defy a sareer high mark from the widest draw in this field of nine.
6.45 Hidden Treasures Interesting filly on a number of counts. Still owned by Andrew Tinkler (?), the Stobart man, who had seemed to be getting out of racing. This daughter of Zoffany cost £56K as a yearling and was withdrawn from Tattersalls H-I-T training sale and had three spins on the sand in November/December of which the second at Chelmsford over 7F chasing home First Victory reads well and she goes handicapping off just OR75. She’s been put in at 10/1 and it will be wise to keep one eye on any market moves.
