Good morning everybody. Just had a week off in order to recharge my batteries and it has definitely been a busman’s holiday. Hours at the computer screen getting my notes up to date and a bit of a rethink concerning the shape and direction of this blog.
I will now be breaking the site into three main sections.
#startracking This will be about horses I think can win before the end of the season and the sort of conditions they will be most likely to win under. #startracking will have three sub sections.
#startrackingOlderHorses4yo+ Especially horses capable of winning big handicaps and Group races.
#startracking3yo’s Looking for horses coming out of maidens who are ahead of their Official Rating (OR), the infamous “Group horse in a handicap”.
#startrackingAntePost Seeing if we can beat the price in those big C2 Heritage handicaps and may involve horses not already in the #startracking sections above.
#FantasticMrFahey As you all know I am a massive fan of all things Musley Bank and although the yard has been quiet on the winners front for the past month I think they are about to burst into action and it could well start this weekend.
#FantasticMrFahey will have four subsections,
#FantasticMrFaheyOlderHorses4yo+ Mainly his Saturday horses and proven handicappers
#FantasticMrFahey3yo’s My favourite section with those starting to climb the handicap ladder.
#FantasticMrFaheyOnlyIf… Horses I would only consider backing under precise circumstances.
#FantasticMrFaheyNotWithMyMoney Mainly low class win-in-their-turn sprinters and under achieving fillies. These I would rather lay than play but as the #FantasticMrFahey is a genius it won’t stop them winning!
#SuperStoute With my notebook from last season bulging with Sir Michael Stoute prospects it has come as no surprise to me of his recent success. What has caught me on the hop is how early in the season those horses from Freemason Lodge have started winning. #SuperStoute will like #startracking have two sections.
#SuperStouteOlderHorses4yo+ Especially horses capable of winning big handicaps and Group races.
#SuperStoute3yo’s Looking for horses coming out of maidens who are ahead of their Official Rating (OR), the infamous “Group horse in a handicap”.
As you can see 2yo’s are not involved. Once Royal Ascot arrives I will add a 2yo section to each of the three main sections but mainly looking at them as prospective 3yo’s for 2017.
Right here is an index of those sections that you should have in your trackers, in the relevant sections. There are a shed load more to come over the next week plus the reasons they are there and their ideal conditions. Instead of one huge file I will post them in bite size blogs!
