#startracking EXTRA Saturday July 23rd 1pm

Nearly missed a horse!

Newmarket 3.10        SHARAAKAH Third in the Sandringham C2 8F at Royal Ascot to Persuasive with Diploma behind in 5th and filled the same position at Sandown in the 8F Coral Distaff Fillies Listed Race. Steps back a furlong here back in C2 handicap company on suitable quicker ground. Must be worth a one star* win @ 4/1 with WH.

Notebook says “Ed Dunlop Blog June 15thSharaakah ran very well on her seasonal debut in the Sandringham yesterday. She was unlucky not to finish second and I think she will improve on this run which is encouraging for the rest of the season.”

No surprise as after winning her maiden as a 2yo the trainer had enthused “Mon 20 July 2015 The horse might be different but the result remains the same. Twelve months on from Arethusa’s success in the fillies’ maiden auction at Newmarket last Saturday, Sharaakah kept the race in the yard when quickening past Puzzle Look to score by half a length. Fourth on debut at Lingfield having missed a beat at the start and run green throughout, Sharaakah left that form well behind in the hands of Joe Fanning. She travelled sweetly on the heels of the leaders before switching to the outside passing the furlong pole, and Joe only had to give her a solitary smack to readily land the spoils, with the front two pulling an encouraging four lengths clear of the remainder.”

Two of my favourite horses of the past seven years run at Ascot today. They both used to be trained by #FantasticMrFahey. They have both on their day won me four figure sums. They are full brothers and the younger one was actually born on MY birthday! They are of course Majestic Myles and Majestic Moon.

That they are still Saturday horses aged six and eight speaks volumes for their class and durability. I wish them both the very best.
