#startracking Monday July 25th 1pm

Mustashry repaid our faith in spades and I thought won a little cosily. #FantasticMrFahey was anything but and is making a bee line for the Cold List! #SuperStoute continues to bang in the winners with Playful Sound on Saturday entering the “couldbeanything” category and Convey on Sunday was a steering job as Ryan Moore went to Pontefract for one ride.

Busy week ahead with Galway and Goodwood and plenty to review from Friday and Saturday but let’s begin with the four #FantasticMrFahey has at Ayr today. Tuesdays card at Goodwood to follow and a quick glance at a very run of the mill card at Yarmouth has I have friends going!

Going Update – Soft, Heavy in places (from Soft, Good to Soft in places)

Ayr 2.00          TEMERITY 170K guineas daughter of Zoffany bought by Cheveley Park. Solid fourth in a C5 6F maiden at Doncaster on Good to Soft ground and the form has been well franked since. Tony Hamilton rides, she steps up a furlong and takes on three previous winners. #FantasticMrFahey’s 2yo’s improving for a run and Temerity surely overpriced @ 9/1 general and worth a one star* win. Interesting rival in Midge Hall whom David Armstrong paid 20K euros for a son of sexy new Australian sire, Helmet. Now with Ann Duffield.

Ayr 2.30          FULL ON CLARETS Notes say “A C3/4, 6/7F gelded son of Equiano who is too consistent for his own good. Has won one from 16 and is 0 from 14 on Turf. His win was a C5 maiden on the sand at Lingfield and since being given a handicap mark of OR80 he has been as high as 85 and as low as 79 without winning! His last run was typical. In a 7 ½ F C3 handicap on the Tapeta at Newcastle he was prominent throughout, travelled well but was a one paced fourth finding little in the final furlong. Always tries, never wins! Has to go on the NWMM list. Currently OR79.” Dropped another two pounds to OR77 but has just won 1 in 18. Ground and trip shouldn’t be an issue but the attitude and ability of the horse definitely are! Watching Brief.

Ayr 4.10          GABRIALS STAR Worryingly in my notebook I have written more than once “Too often the bridesmaid.” However his mark has come down 9lbs in the last three months and he is now plying his trade in C4. This 13F event has some depth to it so it’s a Watching Brief.

Ayr 4.40          ENERGIA FLAVIO Just can’t have this horse even in the “Mascots Race”! Racing Post spot on “Dropped long way in weights but needs to raise game and both wins in Brazil in 2013.” Surely heading for a seller. Watching Brief.
